Sharon Yvonne Stone is the only child of Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, an engineer and tool maker. She was also a employee in a manufacturing plant. However, Stone became disillusioned with the world of modeling and modeling in Europe which led her to take up acting in Europe while she was there.
